ABSTRACT
The consequences of acquired brain injury (ABI) for the individual can be diverse, and affect all areas of life. But parental ABI can change life for families immensely, too. A US study (Urbach & Culbert, 1991) found that around 30–40% of people with ABI had dependent children, and we might reasonably speculate that figures for the present UK population are broadly similar.
