ABSTRACT
The twin acknowledgement of this exploration is to both the psychological world, with its proper interest in the Mental State, and the theological world, with its emphasis on Word and Sacrament. It is my contention that each is in a vacuum without the other. They can best be brought together under the rubric of The Sacra-mental State. Poiesis is the third foot of the tripod which holds the other two steady, but it is not the concern of this essay until the final section.
