Disclosure is an act of communicating hidden things. It involves the risk of confiding in others, the responsibility of deeper awareness, and the danger that one's confidences may be breached. Disclosure, as an act of revelation, presupposes that something is unknown or covered up. Its disclosure may create intimacy or lead to personal betrayal, official scrutiny and public scandal.
