ABSTRACT

Practice education for nursing and midwifery students in the UK has been a neglected aspect of professional nurse preparation for decades (Morley, Wilson and McDermott, 2017). Following the publication of a series of negative national reports and enquiries on the quality of nurse education (Willis Commission, 2012; Willis, 2015), it seemed that the tide of change had moved towards a systematic review of pre-registration nurse and midwifery provision.
