ABSTRACT

The purpose of this edited volume has been to deepen current understanding of agency in LPP by exploring important theoretical notions about agency and LPP, and by providing ethnographically oriented analyses of agency in a variety of LPP contexts around the world. The principal motivations for all chapter contributions in this volume have been the need for (a) greater engagement with interdisciplinarity in LPP scholarship (Tollefson, 2008) and (b) theoretically grounded approaches to the structure-agency debate within the context of LPP research (Johnson & Johnson, 2015).
