ABSTRACT
The story begins with two conspicuous phenomena of that recent yet distant period, the 1980s. One was the bubble, and the other was postmodern architecture. It was not a coincidence that they occurred at the same time. Why was the era of the bubble also the era of postmodern architecture? The answer to that question may help solve the riddle of that special decade.
