ABSTRACT

The growing body of research on processes, impacts, and contexts of parenting reported in this Handbook and other outlets intensifies longstanding societal interests in evidence-based interventions that lead to significant improvements in children’s well-being. The development and testing of parenting interventions is an expanding area of science and is currently engaged in efforts to extend the reach and strengthen the outcomes of a theoretically diverse set of efficacious programs. Whether these directions elevate parenting interventions to new levels of efficient accessibility and impact depends partly on advances in research on intervention processes and facilitators of successful implementation.
