ABSTRACT

In recent years the budget of the Netherlands’s government has come to approximately NLG (Netherland Guilder) 200 billion annually. Almost 25 percent of this amount is used to finance the national debt, leaving a little over NLG 150 billion for general administration and the implementation of all other government tasks, programs and services. The question of how effectively this money is spent is an important one for the management of the civil service, Parliament, and the Dutch citizen. In order to address this question data have to be systematically collected and analyzed.
