ABSTRACT
The Hon. Joseph W. Twinam, John C. West visiting professor at The Citadel, Charleston, South Carolina, was formerly dean of the Executive Seminar and Professional Studies at the Foreign Service Institute. He served as the first resident U.S. ambassador to Bahrain and as deputy assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs.
