ABSTRACT
The Arab-Israeli conflict, which is now almost a century old, has become one of the most important in international politics. Its salience derives not only from its longevity but also from the involvement of the superpowers in the conflict. War in the Middle East has the potential of escalating into a global confrontation and this underscores the significance of the conflict.
