ABSTRACT
In this age of ever-increasing technological complexity, I believe it is imperative that our scientific and technical leaders become aware of the challenges presented by the science education systems of our principal ideological and industrial international competitors. Here I am concerned with the industrial challenge of the Federal Republic of Germany and the ideological challenge of world communism, of which the German Democratic Republic is a representative model.
