The word ‘research’ has, until recently, filled many teachers, including myself, with fear – having visions of thousands of questionnaires and complicated statistical analysis. These chapters demonstrate that this is not the case, with each showing that research can be small-scale, practical and relevant to what is happening in our classrooms – an activity that teachers can carry out without a negative impact on their workload.
