ABSTRACT

Starting from China’s east coast, the New Eurasian Continental Bridge Economic Corridor spans the Eurasian continent (reaching Central and Eastern Europe through China’s Northwest, Central Asia and Russia), links the economically dynamic East Asia economic circle to the east, connects the developed European economic circle to the westand covers the two regions of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Central Asia, plus two platforms of the “16+1 cooperation” (China and 16 Central and Eastern European countries) and SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organisation). 1 Based on modern international logistics system such as the China–Europe Railways, the New Eurasian Continental Bridge Economic Corridor will open up a broader space for cooperation between China and the CEE countries (CEECs), with expanding energy resources cooperation as lead, promoting economic and trade and production capacity cooperation as priority, and building a smooth and efficient regional greater market as objective. It also provides new opportunities for the development of vast countries in the inland of Eurasia.
