ABSTRACT
Fundamental questions underlie our project, but that this Handbook has not posed until now: with the rise of new nationalisms and with multilateralism under siege, is the UN development system (UNDS) still required? If it is, for what is it really needed and with what comparative advantage? Which of its functions are still pertinent and important, and which are not? Is it fit for purpose?
