Literature and Political Culture

Over the past decade and a half, several efforts have been made to assess the state of German political culture in the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) and the German Democratic Republic (GDR). Among the most important studies made in the early 1960s, little more than fifteen years after the end of World War II, was Almond and Verba’s The Civic Culture (1963). ¹
