Restructuring Local Labor Markets: Lessons from the 1980s, an Agenda for the 1990s

In this concluding chapter, we discuss three issues: social theory, methodology, and the types of research and policy questions raised by work in the sociology of labor markets. We pay special attention to the application of the labor market perspective to rural areas since many of the chapters in this book focused on this.
