ABSTRACT
Particularly important in a study of this nature are the responses of each side to new tactics and techniques of the other. The present chapter will deal primarily with Vietminh reactions to French innovations, but it will examine also some of the ways in which the French responded to the tactics and countertactics of the Vietminh.
