ABSTRACT
One of the major derelictions of duty by educationists in recent history is their neglect of and contempt for values. Values matter of course in the life of every man and woman. But they matter absolutely crucially in education, and in the life and development of young people. Where adults responsible for the care and training of young people forget this fact, or deny it, we can be sure that mischief is afoot for society as a whole.
