ABSTRACT
Chers amis, We have decided, for this year at least, to suspend the Centre’s activities.
We will try to explain the various grounds for this decision. There are, first of all, reasons which are personal and have nothing
whatsoever to do with the functioning of the Centre: fatigue, the burden of work and of duties, the impossibility of facing up to all this. Both of us are in need of a break. On the other hand, it has so happened that those in charge of philosophy at the Ecole Normale Supérieure are themselves contemplating rethinking in its entirety the politics of philosophical activities in the establishment: from this angle also, in another way, a suspension was to be wished for.
