ABSTRACT

Julia O'Connell Davidson is Professor of Sociology at the University of Nottingham. She has spent more than a decade researching sex commerce in the affluent and developing world, and has written extensively on prostitution, child prostitution, sexual tourism, and "trafficking." Her most recent book is Children in the Global Sex Trade (2005, Cambridge: Polity), and she is currently involved in research on migrant domestic and sex workers in Britain and Spain.
