There has been extensive philosophical discussion, especially in recent years, of the idea of children’s rights. Little if any of this work, however, makes reference to what must be seen as the inescapable starting point for any such discussion, namely the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC 1989 ).
