ABSTRACT

There is no way of avoiding climate change. This natural and human-induced phenomenon is indeed being experienced worldwide, and an important way of coping with it in the Philippines is to enhance the mitigation and adaptation mechanisms of the agriculture sector, particularly the upland farmers. This is because this group of farmers is located in the most vulnerable and fragile ecosystems. One of the ways for these upland farmers to cope, and to mitigate the adverse consequences of climate change, is through agro-forestry (IFPRI 2006).
