ABSTRACT
In this chapter, I consider the relationship between insecurity and the city.1 Previous chapters have dealt with an enormous variety of definitions, forms and objects of security and insecurity. My approach here is multidisciplinary, historical and rooted in a philosophical position holding that all sentient beings should be able to flourish or unfold, to reach a full positive potential (Naess 1989).
