ABSTRACT

The horrižc school shooting at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999, brought awareness to the modern world of the terrible suffering of victims of teasing and bullying. In the website created by the gunmen Eric Harris and Dylan Klebald, they presented themselves as victims of loathing and abuse by other students and announced their plans to carry out an unspeakably ghastly act of revenge. Looking back at previous school shooters, social scientists noticed that almost all of them harbored similar victimization sentiments, though they may have not been as articulate about them as Harris and Klebald. This discovery ignited our determination to eliminate the scourge of bullying from schools.
