ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on research on speaking as it is relevant to gaining control of the speaking skill and to the use of speaking as a way of expanding language knowledge, such as vocabulary knowledge. It includes the learning of a clear pronunciation of the language, as well as control of grammatical and discourse features.
