ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a global picture of violence against women as a human rights violation that impacts the health, economics, and well-being of individuals, households, and society. It discusses the multiple, complex, and intersecting impact of violence on critical components of women’s lives in the context of a human rights framework and examines the role of global leadership in ending violence against women.
