ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we draw attention to the health and well-being of children and youth, paying particular attention to the sub-Saharan African (SSA) region. We draw on existing literature and our experiences working in Nairobi’s urban slums, highlighting the opportunities and challenges faced by young people as they grow up in a changing world. We underscore implications for policy and programmatic efforts aimed at prioritising child and youth health in national agendas.
