ABSTRACT
Counseling psychology, along with related helping professions, has realized the tremendous impact of culture on the development of individuals and families. Correspondingly, models for culturally competent psychological practices and interventions, ethical codes, and the like have emerged on the landscapes of both professional best practice and empirical literature. These models have expanded initial examinations of multicultural issues within counseling and psychology practice into broader systemic arenas as well as within the realms of advocacy and social justice.
