ABSTRACT
This chapter gives an overview of the institutional structure and some major trends in German intelligence. It begins with a glimpse at Germany’s strategic conditions, before giving a brief description of the German intelligence community. Finally, I will assess the impact of both systemic change and transnationalisation processes on the organisation of German intelligence in the past two decades.
