ABSTRACT
This chapter presents a selective look at feminist interventions in the field of development research and policy. It traces the emergence of Women in Development (WID) as a distinctive constituency in the field, offers a critique of its main theoretical underpinnings, and draws out its lessons for an alternative feminist perspective for development.
