If you are thinking of approaching a casting director, watch their work and identify what it is that makes you want to collaborate with them. There should be some affi nity between their work and your production and the type of cast you are looking for: perhaps you have two children to cast and they have a lot of experience with casting children, or they regularly work with a director you particularly admire.
