ABSTRACT
This chapter presents the lessons from Healthy Waterways (HW), a unique organisation that brings people together across multiple sectors to manage waterways in South East Queensland (SEQ), Australia. HW is an independent, not-for-pro t, non-governmental, membership-based organisation that works to protect and improve waterway health. It does so in a region where rivers, lakes and the coast are recognised to be an integral part of lifestyles and the economy. HW facilitates planning and coordination of e orts at local and regional levels by its network of member organisations. Collectively these aim to deliver a shared vision for waterway improvement and health.
