ABSTRACT
Recognizing lexical knowledge to be a pivotal component of both reading and writing development, we assessed the ALTUR students’ vocabulary and morphological knowledge at the start and end of the school year. In addition, several tutors opted to make strategies for vocabulary development a focus of tutoring for certain students (as described in case studies in the Appendices, particularly Appendices C, F, and G).
