ABSTRACT
Peace Journalism has emerged, since the mid-1990s, as a new field within Peace and Conflict Studies. It offers both a form of critical analysis of existing war reporting, and a set of practical plans and options for journalists. Peace Journalism does not just mean ‘reporting peace’. In essence, it entails the application of insights from Peace and Conflict Studies – the sum of what is known and has been observed about conflict, its dynamics and the potential for transformation – to the everyday jobs of editing and reporting the news.
