ABSTRACT

Humans are an intensely social species, highly dependent for their well-being on good social relations with those around them. But the goals of normal individual humans are constantly conflicting with those of others, and in pursuit of our goals we frequently do harm to each other, in sharp words, in physical violence, stealing, cheating and so on. And what we do as individuals is multiplied when we act as organized groups. When we have harmed someone or some group we need or must live alongside, how do we restore the good relationship?
