ABSTRACT

Working in Cultural Resources Management (CRM) in Sonoma County and Oakland, California, the Praetzelli take up questions of pedagogy, academic archaeology and heritage management, and ways of storytelling. With case studies that include the making of the Black Panthers, they present an argument for presenting archaeological stories that challenge current orthodox histories such as those of California. Here they place emphasis on communicating with the public and, in the end, how a heritage manager should write.
