ABSTRACT

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) elders have many things in common with their peers. All elders-who, for the purposes of this chapter, are those over the age of sixty-five-are affected by increased health care needs as they grow older and encounter ageism, increasing isolation, challenges associated with day-to-day living, and living on a fixed income while the cost of living climbs. At the same time, unique challenges remain for LGBT seniors that the aging, health care, and LGBT networks must address.
