ABSTRACT

Cooperative learning is a (one of classroom organization in which students work in small groups to help one another learn academic: material. or course, group work has existed in education for centuries, but there have been three major developments in the past 15 years that have added substantially to traditional group work paradigms. First, researchers have developed specific, practical methods in which group work plays a central role, often in combination with other types of activities. These methods are designed more for use as the primary organizing scheme in the classroom than for occasional use.
