ABSTRACT

In Chapter 5, we reflected on the way our spirituality is expressed in the everyday world. As we engage in the daily round, we encounter a range of opportunities for conversion to Christ. There are those who think of conversion in terms of a discrete event located at a particular point in time. Indeed, this can be an important dimension in the conversion experience. Many people can point to a particular period, if not a certain day, when they made a decision to respond to God’s gracious offer of healing and liberation in Christ. But, of course, conversion is a process. Is there ever a time when one can say that one is fully and completely converted to the way of Christ? We are people on the way. We are journeying out of the darkness into the light. Sometimes, we allow ourselves to slip back into the shadows. Christ is calling us ever onwards to live as people of the light.
