Deb

Deb is a fifty-four-year-old white middle-class woman with a doctorate. She is married for the second time and has two adult children. Both of our interviews took place in her office. I was in a chair next to her desk, and she sat in her desk chair facing me. Before the start of both interviews, she pushed her chair a few feet away from the desk, so we ended up sitting about six feet apart.
