ABSTRACT
Miracles2 can be said to be a common and distinctive feature ofreligious biographies or hagiographies in most religious traditions. In such biographies, the occurrence of miracles testifies to the holiness of the saint whose life is being narrated, but explanation of the precise nature of such miracles, and interpretation of their significance, will differ from one religion to another.
