Building a Northeast Asian community: A multilateral security approach

Multilateral security cooperation efforts in East Asia have started to develop since the early 1990s, though the level of cooperation in the region (especially in Northeast Asia) still remains primitive when compared to the level of cooperation efforts in Europe or North America, which have their beginnings in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
