Beyond hype or gloom Despite enormous advances in technology, schools – and education more broadly – have remained remarkably unchanged over the centuries throughout the world. Recently, however, expectations for an education that exploits the new technologies have reached unprecedented heights – an inevitable reaction, perhaps, in a country where technological fixes have long been the solution of first resort.
