ABSTRACT
Being aware of your own professional development needs is an important part of your growing ability to be refl ective so that you can improve your own practice through self evaluation. As an HLTA, you may wish to expand your work to other areas within the school, or you may wish to consider going on to train as a teacher. This chapter outlines how to use ICT to support your professional development; how to identify appropriate training programmes and qualifi cations by using the career development framework and also explores the various routes into teaching.
