ABSTRACT
Three major events from the last 25 years have exercised particular influence on the formation of Danish educational policy: first, Denmark’s entry into the Common Market (post-1993 the EU) in 1973; second, the advent of a liberal, right-wing government in 1982, which in many ways meant a breach with the previously pursued educational policies; third, its replacement by a government headed by the Social Democrats in 1993.
