ABSTRACT

Scripts for studio productions and commentaries Scripts for studio-based productions are written in advance and a copy of the final version given to the teleprompt operator, but they must be prepared so they relate to the pictures. The script here is usually concerned with conveying factual information, not creating a mood, reflecting an environment or representing a point of view, which a commentary might do. In a magazine programme or a news programme, items are generally introduced by a presenter or newsreader directly to camera. There may be cutaways to stills or clips of footage while the script continues. Hitting the right point in the script will be the responsibility of the director and vision mixer.
