Today the subject has grown enormously and is still growing at a rapid pace, with research into the performance modeling of areas as diverse as, for example, dynamic routing strategies, cellular mobile radio systems, and the application of fast packet-switching techniques. Hui (1990) is a good text for some of these developments.
