Numerical simulation of the non-linear behaviour of masonry infills within multi-story RC framed structures

ABSTRACT: Masonry infill panels within multi-story Reinforced Concrete (R/C) framed structures were damaged to a considerable extend during strong earthquake activity. An advanced non-linear 2-D numerical simulation is first presented that can realistically capture the in-plane hysteretic behaviour of Reinforced Concrete (R/C) frames with masonry infills.
