ABSTRACT

Agricultural productivity largely depends on energy, water, and land resources. The increasing use of energy resources is currently one of the major challenges to agriculture (Chen et al., 2015; Bundschuh and Chen, 2014; Bundschuh et al., 2017). Continuous high fuel and electricity prices and the need for significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions make the improvement of farming energy efficiency essential. Exploration of new alternative and renewable energy sources is also vital.
