ABSTRACT
Plant viruses are transmitted mechanically and through a wide range of agents like vegetative propagative organs, grafting, seeds and pollen, fungi, and through insects and nematodes. The last two agents are very effective transmitting media. They feed on plants and then move from one plant to another, during which viruses are effectively transmitted to the plants visited. Many viruses depend exclusively or largely on insects and nematodes for their transmission.
